Pick the winner (or margin, or draw) across whichever comp you join — AFL, NFL, Spring Racing, or our flagship 52-event global championship — and earn points based on how accurate your predictions are. Every comp is completely free to play.

How is scoring calculated in the People's Championship?

Our scoring system is designed to reward accuracy across different event types. For standard events, you get 10 points for correctly picking the winner, 5 points for second place, and 1 point for third place. Some events like tennis tournaments don't have a third place, so losing semi-finalists each get 1 point. You can also use special picks like 'Double Down' (20 points if correct, 0 if wrong) and 'Gimme' (guaranteed 10 points) to boost your score strategically. Other comps like AFL and NFL keep it simple — straight win/loss tipping, round by round.

What are substitutions and how do they work in the People's Championship?

Substitutions are your safety net in the People's Championship! After the main entry deadline passes, you get 3 substitutions for the entire season. This means you can change 3 of your picks before their individual event deadlines. It's perfect for when you change your mind about a selection or when new information becomes available. Use them wisely though - once you've used all 3, you're locked in for the rest of the year!

When are the deadlines for the People's Championship?

There are two types of deadlines in the People's Championship. First, there's the main entry deadline (usually around late January) where you can make unlimited changes to all your picks. After this deadline, you can only use your 3 substitutions. Second, each individual event has its own substitution deadline, typically 24 hours before the event starts. You can't change picks for an event once its deadline has passed. Our other comps (AFL, NFL, Spring Racing) run to their own weekly or round-by-round deadlines instead.

What is a 'Double Down' and 'Gimme' selection?

Your 'Double Down' is a high-risk, high-reward selection - if you pick the winner correctly, you get 20 points instead of the usual 10, but if you're wrong, you get 0 points. Your 'Gimme' is the opposite - it's your safety pick that guarantees you 10 points regardless of the result. You can only use one of each for the entire season, so choose wisely!

Getting started is super easy! Just click the 'Join Competition' button, create your free account with your name and email, then pick which comp (or comps) you want to tip. For the People's Championship, you'll make your predictions for all the upcoming events, save picks as drafts, and come back to complete them anytime before the main deadline. Once you've made all your selections and chosen your Double Down and Gimme events, submit your entry and you're in!

What happens if there's a tie in the leaderboard?

Great question! Our tipping comps use a sophisticated tiebreaker system. When players have the same total points, we look at 'tiebreak points' - these are bonus points you earn for making unique or less popular picks. The formula gives you more tiebreak points for selections that fewer people chose. This rewards punters who think outside the box and make bold predictions!
